Course Information

IELTS for University Entrance
This two-year course accompanies the British AS/A Level Course and is suitable for students who wish to gain entry to a British University, but do not have a pass at English GCSE/IGCSE or an equivalent examination. The entry standard expected would be equivalent to ALTE Level 4, Competent User; Council of Europe Level C1.
IELTS is designed to access the language ability of candidates who need to study in an institution where English is used as the language of communication. The course aims to improve candidates’ ability to use English effectively as well as to advance their knowledge of grammatical structures and vocabulary in the context of language use. Our excellent examination results have enabled students to go to the higher educational establishments oftheir choice. Past students at Newlands School have been successful in securing a place at their university of choice. For those interested in entering an American University, we can offer an option to study for the TOEFL examination.
